Club Fresh Goa
Launching a Mediterranean Dream on Morjim Beach

In 2009, when Goa’s party circuit was already thriving, something strikingly different emerged on the sands of Morjim. Inspired by the effortless glamour of Nikki Beach, Club Fresh was conceived as a white-on-white, Mediterranean-style beach resort that blended luxury hospitality with high-energy nightlife.
This was not just another beach shack or seasonal nightclub. Club Fresh was designed to feel like a slice of St. Tropez or St. Barts transplanted onto the Arabian Sea — a niche, premium offering aimed at India’s discerning jet set and international travellers who were accustomed to elevated beach experiences in Miami and the Mediterranean.
I was brought on to lead the PR strategy for the brand’s three-to-four-month launch journey — from pre-launch buzz to the grand unveiling, and sustained post-launch coverage.

The Vision
Promoted by entrepreneur Sunil Chawla with an investment of approximately ₹6 crore, Club Fresh Goa launched on November 13, 2009. The property featured:
- 16 luxury tented accommodations starting at ₹12,000 per night
- A Thai and Japanese restaurant, with expansion plans for a barbeque concept
- A spa reflexology zone
- An art gallery space featuring contemporary works
- Indian and international DJs
- A dramatic 42-metre bar and expansive dance floor
- All-white interiors inspired by global beach club aesthetics
Set against the tranquil yet fashionable backdrop of Morjim Beach, the resort targeted premium Indian clientele as well as European, American and Mediterranean travellers visiting Goa during peak season.
Pre-Launch: Building Anticipation
The mandate was clear — position Club Fresh as Goa’s answer to international beach clubs.
I curated a targeted media strategy across travel, hospitality, lifestyle, fashion, and mainline publications. Personally coordinating logistics, I flew 20 journalists from Mumbai to Goa, ensuring representation across multiple beats — from travel editors to online media and lifestyle influencers of the time.
The goal wasn’t just attendance. It was immersion. Every journalist experienced the property, the design philosophy, the cuisine, and the energy firsthand.
The Launch Night

The launch event was designed to mirror the brand’s ambition — spectacular, theatrical, and unforgettable.
International fire performers were flown in. An art deco exhibition was installed right on the beach. DJs set the tone for an eclectic music experience blending electronic, fusion, and global sounds. Celebrities and high-profile guests attended, elevating the glamour quotient.
As the sun dipped into the Arabian Sea and the all-white interiors glowed under ambient lighting, Club Fresh transformed from a concept into a statement.
It was Goa — but elevated.
Post-Launch: Securing National Visibility
The real work began after the party ended.
I drove the post-launch PR wave, converting the experience into sustained editorial presence. Coverage was secured across leading national and lifestyle publications including:
- India Today
- Outlook Traveller
- Femina
- Vogue India
- JetWings
- The Times of India (Goa Times)
- Hindustan Times (HT Café)
- Hospitality and trade publications including Hospitality Biz
This ensured Club Fresh was positioned not just as a party destination, but as a luxury hospitality concept redefining Goa’s beach culture.
The Business Reality
Like many seasonal hospitality ventures in Goa, Club Fresh eventually ceased operations after a few years. The reasons were aligned with broader industry challenges — seasonality, operational sustainability, regulatory complexities, and evolving nightlife dynamics in the region.
Its closure was reflective of the volatility of the hospitality sector in Goa at the time — not the brand launch or PR momentum, which successfully positioned it as one of the most glamorous beach destinations during its operational peak.
The Impact
This project remains one of the most dynamic launches of my early career.
It required:
- Multi-city media coordination
- Experiential event PR
- Celebrity and influencer management
- Hospitality positioning strategy
- Post-event editorial conversion
- On-ground execution under tight timelines
Club Fresh wasn’t just a venue launch — it was the introduction of an international-style beach club culture to North Goa.
For a brief, brilliant moment, Morjim felt like Miami.
And I had the privilege of shaping that narrative from concept to coverage.
